The Fray Berkeley Concert reviews
One of the best live performances I've ever seen!
An incredible live performer, Ray is! His voice is so soulful, rich, and full. I'm not sure I've seen before the passion he brings to music. Even better live than he does on his studio albums, he sounds. I really felt a connection through his music, although Ray was humble and somewhat reserved on stage. Brilliant and really moving was his opening acoustic set. Above and beyond what I was expecting was his guitar playing. A rare, rare talent, the man is!
Performing as The Fray's backing band, My Morning Jacket followed The Fray's opening acoustic set. A treat to see them perform with The Fray, their sound was incredibly tight! Until the week of the concert, I didn't know that I was going to get to see 4/5 of an amazing band in addition to seeing The Fray.
Some concertgoers were disappointed that The Fray didn't play some of his more well-known songs, including "You Are the Best Thing," but it's The Fray's performance, so he gets to choose the set list. I would've loved to hear that song and others, but what I did hear was just as good.
Seeing The Fray in person, I highly recommend. You won't regret it!
